Rhythm

Linking up with Five Minute Friday.

Life, it has a rhythm.
A rhythm it was meant to have.
Established by God.
Secured in Christ.
Enabled by the Spirit.

Life, it has a rhythm.
Of work.
And rest.
Work.
And rest.
Gifted from the One who never slumbers or sleep.

Life, it has a rhythm.
A rhythm for the ages.
Of community.
And solitude.
Togetherness.
And aloneness.
Provided by the Creator of all.

Life, it has a rhythm.
Of succeeding.
And failing.
Of mountain highs.
And valley lows.
Held out by the Guide of our ever-wandering hearts.

Life, it has a rhythm.
But I must stop to listen.
Cease in order to hear.
And when my life
moves,
lives,
and has it's being
in time with the
Rhythm Maker
then I have truly begun to live.

Here's to really living!

  4. Nikki, You left a sweet comment at my blog today:). I love this poem, especially the last stanza: But I must stop to listen, Cease in order to hear. So true! I think that may be the key to letting my discordant songs harmonize :). May God bless you today!!

    1. Amy - How sweet of you to stop over here in my small space of the blog world. Thank you for your kind words. And yes, perhaps in our ceasing and stillness the songs may find harmony! May Jesus always be your sweetest song!
